Eglo Records

This young record label out of London has been very prolific over the past year and change in pushing forward-thinking electronic and soul music. I first got put on to them through Floating Point’s undeniable “Love Me Like This” groove and found out there’s a lot more to the collective which includes Swedish-born vocalist Fatima, producer Funkineven, North London via Nigeria singer Shuanise and label head/DJ Alex Nut. Combining apparent influences from Detroit techno, New Wave, Coming to America skits & 90s R&B vocals, the words on Funkineven’s heavy “Heartpound” sum it up best, “It’s a new sound, from an old town.” Check out all the Eglo releases at Juno and some videos below.
