Fishing

October 10, 2011

Bubble bath music, I think that’s the best way to describe Fishing‘s general style. I first came across “the Sydney-based production duo (Doug Wright & Russell Fitzgibbon)” when I blindly downloaded a what I thought was a mislabeled Alpine track. Upon deeper research and a trip to their bandcamp page I discovered it was indeed an Alpine track, but Fishing had remixed it.

I like Fishing, they’re different. The songs are short, sweet, and stress-free. They’re signed to Young Mine/Other Tongues and have supported acts like: Cloud Control, Jonothan Boulet & Dappled Cities. Their last 7″ came about a year ago and I’m not sure what they’ve done since then. If you have any updates please feel free to post about it in the comments section. If not go take a bubble bath and play this:

Alpine – Heartlove (Fishing Backyard Bonding Remix)

Fishing – Pee Green Bote

Fishing – OOOO

it’s my favourite song form the eclectic mix of happy sounds on their Fishing in the Colo Wilderness (Hard Drive Clean Out) album.
