I spent the last few weeks both in urban and rural New York and Bibio has coincidentally been a staple in my summer’s soundtrack.  Mind Bokeh came out earlier this year and now car rental companies are pumping it through their XM radios as frequently as trendy boutiques play it to keep shoppers circulating and spending dough. There’s one song off the album I’m particularly fond of called “K is For Kelson” in which Stephen Wilkinson (aka Bibio) performs 13 instruments by himself: Archtop Jazz Guitar, Electric Bass guitar, Rhodes Electric Piano, Analogue Monophonic Synthesizer, Wine and Whisky Bottles filled with water, Various Shakers, Brandy glass, Hand Claps, Chinese Silk Fan (as kick drum), Bermibau, Plastic Bottle of Water (as shaker), Voice, and Talk Box. The track reminds me of motivational 70s music… doesn’t get much better than that.

Bibio – K is For Kelson

The whole album is pretty awesome. Buy it here
