Baobinga’s Joint Venture
On his new release, Baobinga works with a crowd of U.K. artists whose influences span garage, drum and bass, dubstep, hip-hop, and even house. Joint Venture begins with a bright and heavy burst before getting jungly and featuring some deep and soulful bass-centric music.
I.D. and Baobinga invent grimy electro sounds with heavy-hitter Roska. The tribalistic percussion of “Tongue Riddim” precedes a bouncy tune with xxxy. Check out tracks below.
Mensah appears on the second half of the LP playing more traditional dubstep with a sci-fi twist, and Guido experiments with electroacoustics in his groovy productions. At the end of Joint Venture, future bass extraordinaires Untold and Randomer show up with hypnotic beats that vibrate through my mind at the end of this trip. Thanks, Baobinga, for bringing bass-lovers of all kinds together on this journey.
