Mixed Nuts II

April 3, 2011

Every once in a while when I’m feeling nostalgic, or if I’m not particularly inspired in my never-ending quest for the “newest and the coolest,” I reflect on some classic jams that never get old to me.  Maybe I’m just lazy, but some really good tracks from the past few years seem to have been forgotten.  So here’s a mixed bag of goodies from my disco and house archives.  All these artists are among my favs, so check them out (many are in the ND archives).

Dolle Jolle- Balearic Incarnation (Todd Terje’s Extra Doll Mix) (Previous post on Todd Terje)

John Talabot- Naomi (Previous Post on John Talabot)

The Emperor Machine- You Clapper

6th Borough Project- Nights Over Memphis (The Revenge Dub)

Jarle Braathen- Takras (Prins Thomas Edit)

Social Disco Club & Maia- The Way You Move (Greg Wilson Version) (Previous post on Greg Wilson)

suffering through the john talabot track. is he just experimenting or is he being serious with this? don’t know what he was thinking with 7+. this feels more around 15. the chick moaning is mildly interesting, but the rest of the track just really suffers. so horrendously monotonous. but it sounds like he had fun making it by the way she’s sounding, i’ll say that.
