Fresh Off their CMJ performances is L.A./Montreal duo No Joy. They sure have this shoe-gaze genre down pact and done right for once. Heavenly vocals drenched in reverb while fuzzed out guitars annihilate your senses…SOLD! No Joy released their debut 7″ on Mexican Summer Records at the end of ’09 and has garnered several good reviews since then. The band which consists of besties Jasamine White-Gluz and Laura Lloyd who split thier time between L.A. and Montreal to write and tour. Their music tends to sound like a mix of My Bloody Valentine’s last two albums with a good dose of Lush. Check out their debut album Ghost Blondes dropping Nov 16th also on Mexican Summer. The record was mixed by Sune Rose Wagner, one half of the Raveonettes. So it’s bound not to disappoint. Here are 3 tracks to make you want to start a band.
