Jamaica is Antoine Hilaire & Flo Lyonnet and from what I can gather, have little connection to any Caribbean island or reggae roots. Based in Paris, this band formally known as Poney Poney, is set to release their debut album No Problem off Co-op Music on August 23rd.  Produced by Xavier de Rosnay (Justice) and Peter Franco, the 11 track album will showcase Jamaica’s unique blend of melodic pop with plenty of badass guitar riffs.  They list of combined influences include Michael Jackson, The Beatles, 60s girl groups, Nirvana, Pantera and Rage Against the Machine.  Not surprisingly the upcoming video for Short & Entertaining will be directed by Jeremie Rozan & Martial Schmetz from Surface to Air (Justice vs. Simian, The Streets) and feature Igor Cavalera, the drummer and founding member of the Brazilian Thrash metal band Sepultura.

Their first single I Think I Like U 2 got plenty of buzz throughout the blogosphere but we have for you their entire 4 track digital EP!
