Rio Lobotomy vs. Nick Cave
I was tipped off to this track by our good friends Terence and Edwin. It was one of those tracks that forced me to approach the booth, interrupt a mix and inquire about “this remix.” Rio Lobotomy is the project name of Charlie Murdoch and Adam Hunter out of Brisbane Australia. They’ve added their disco-house flavor to the likes of In Flagranti, Housse de Racket, Yello, and as mentioned in a previous post, Das Moth.
I’m all about the dance floor bangers, but there’s something about a smooth and steady disco beat that’s just good to chill, play some billiards, and bob your head to. That’s exactly what I was doing when I first heard this Nick Cave remix.
