New Stereo Total Stuff

July 14, 2010

Nicolette Neves is one of WVUM’s favorite DJs. She’s the Assistant Music Director for the summer and has come up with some pretty awesome adds for rotation so far. I was extatic when she showed up to the studio with Stereo Total’s new album Baby Ouh! so thought it would be most appropriate for her to write this blog post.

Check out Nico’s rotation show Thursdays on WVUM 90.5 FM (or wvum.org) from 3-5 pm. Followed by my rotation show (5-7pm) and then Amber’s Electric Kingdom from 7-9pm.

Here’s Nico’s shpeal on Stereo Total’s “Baby Ouh!”

Hailing from Berlin, Françoise Cactus and Brezel Göring are STEREO TOTAL. The countdown for the duo’s 2010 release “Baby Ouh!” is over, delivering “Hysterical, glamorous, playful, experimental, melodious [and] rebellious” multi-lingual tracks with a variety of themes. The band formed in 1993 and have released numerous albums including; “Paris-Berlin” “Discotheque” and “Do the Bambi” as well as over 100 songs and are back to bring listeners their unrivaled sound. Integrating an array of instrumentals and genres, including new wave, synth-pop and electronica, combined with unique lyrics makes “Baby Ouh!” an enticing new album. Even if they are singing in a completely foreign language, Stereo Total is an enjoyable band with a retro vibe whose musical chemistry and sound has proven to stand the test of time.

Recommended Tracks:

Stereo Total – No Controles (sung in Spanish – originally by Flans)
